This introduction was indeed thought provoking.  I learned that politics, in part, represents the struggle and power over a society.  As a born US citizen, the concept of "civil religion" stood out to me the most.  I can somewhat relate the feelings of loyalty and devotion towards my country, with those I've felt in my religion.  I look forward to learning more about politics and the American political system.
